Residential Property Price Movement In The Last Decade (2010 to 2019)
As we step into a new decade, let us take a look at the various property classes and how they performed in the last 10 years.
HDB Resale Price Movement (2010 to 2019)
The HDB resale value went up by 11.23% from 2010 to 2019. The median resale price also grew from S$373,350 in 2010 to S$400,000 in 2019.
Executive Condominium (EC) Price Movement (2010 to 2019)
EC prices is up by 46.43% from 2010 to 2019. The average price for an apartment went from S$783,050 in 2010 to S$1,063,933 in 2019. The average property size transacted in 2019 was 1,128 sqft compared to 1,215 sqft in 2010.
Private Residential (Non-Landed, Excluding EC) Price Movement (2010 to 2019)
The private residential prices (excluding EC) is up by 40.02% from 2010 to 2019. The average price for an apartment went from S$1,400,114 in 2010 to S$1,609,446 in 2019. The average property size transacted in 2019 was 1,210 sqft compared to 993 sqft in 2010.
Private Residential (Strata Landed) Price Movement (2010 to 2019)
Strata landed prices is up by 22.87% from 2010 to 2019. The average price for a strata house went from S$2,424,969 in 2010 to S$2,654,809 in 2019. The average property size transacted in 2019 was 3,339 sqft compared to 3,748 sqft in 2010.
Private Residential (Landed) Price Movement (2010 to 2019)
Landed prices is up by 51.17% from 2010 to 2019. The average price for a landed house went from S$3,276,061 in 2010 to S$4,178,069 in 2019. The average land size transacted in 2019 was 3,081 sqft compared to 3,652 sqft in 2010.
The good news is just like what most would have expected which is property price to rise over time. However, there are always exceptions which I will cover in another research.
